Regular sauna use can promote healthy living, and a basement sauna would add a touch of luxury to any basement.
It can also breathe new life into a blasé basement. A space that was perhaps once reserved for storage can quickly be transformed into a great spot for your home sauna.
With the demand for home saunas steadily increasing, saunas are now available in a variety of different packages to fit various situations and preferences.
Hmmm... decisions, decisions
You can either buy a pre-built sauna or a pre-cut sauna. There’s also the option of building your own sauna if you’re a true handyman.
A pre-built (or modular sauna) is the easiest to set up. Pre-built modular saunas usually consist of 4 or 5 panels that assemble together. The sauna is already built for the most part. Even a person like me with little tool skills can put one together.
A pre-cut sauna kit is more labor intensive. You might even consider hiring a contractor unless you have moderate to advanced handyman skills.
The upside to a pre-cut kit is that it does allow max flexibility in the design and layout of your sauna. If you take the measurements and supply the manufacturer with your dimensions, they’ll cut all the boards to length and label them.
They’ll send everything you need including a pre-hung door, benches, and other accessories.
