Electric Sauna Heaters

electric sauna heater Electric sauna heaters are the easiest and most energy efficient way to heat saunas.

An electric heater in a properly insulated room is 100% efficient, so it costs only pennies to operate.

There's a wide variety of brands, styles, and even colors being sold by sauna businesses.

Because the heater is the heart of a sauna, you definitely want quality! You want a heater that is durable and dependable.

Factors that help determine the quality of an electric sauna heater

Stainless steel. A heater made with stainless steel elements should live a long life.

Triple wall construction. Electric heaters are enclosed in a protective casing to help prevent burns if you accidentally brush up against it.

But some heaters are made with triple wall construction, which drastically reduces the surface temperature.

Large rock capacity. A quality heater has a large rock capacity with the rocks in direct contact with the heating elements.

Direct contact. If the rocks have direct contact with the heating elements, it helps to soften the extreme heat. This means you'll feel soothing soft heat.

You'll also experience more pleasant steam if you pour water over the rocks.

Heater Controls

Electric sauna heater controls are usually made with a timer, thermostat, light switch, and indicator light.

Controls are available with either touch pads or dials, and some can be mounted on the interior or exterior of your sauna.

Some controls also allow you to set a program. Each time you use your sauna, just press a button and your previous settings are repeated.

Some heaters also have a time and temperature display.

Heater Selection: Some Things To Consider

First, you should know that the size of your sauna helps determine the price of the heater. The bigger your sauna, the bigger the price tag.

You have a choice of having your heater set up on the wall or floor of your sauna.

Some heaters are made for aesthetic appeal, and some are made to simply get the job done. For example, there are a variety of different colors on the market. I’ve seen red, blue, black, gray, and white heaters.

WARNING: Before you choose color, you should probably ask if that color will last with repeated use. Your ‘pretty’ heater wouldn’t look so nice if the pre-painted material starts to separate from the underlying material.
