Finlandia Sauna

If you’re interested in reproducing “authentic” Finnish sauna experiences, you can’t go wrong with a Finlandia Sauna.

About Finlandia Sauna

Having been around since 1964, Finlandia is one of the oldest sauna companies in the United States.

The companies’ president Reino J. A. Tarkiainen, who is a native of Finland, says…

“My Finnish pride in the Sauna and my desire to represent the "true" Sauna here in America, prompted me to start my own Sauna business in 1964.”

And what does he mean by “true” sauna? Well, Finlandia Sauna does not sell far infrared saunas.

To Mr. Tarkiainen, infrared saunas are not real saunas. In a traditional since, he’s certainly right.

Finlandia’s Products And Accessories

Finlandia sells prefabricated and precut sauna kits made of clear western softwoods.

(You can read more about prefab sauna kits here or precut sauna kits here)

If you buy a precut sauna kit, Finlandia will cut the material to fit the room where your sauna will be set up. You have to provide the room dimensions.

You can also buy an outdoor sauna, which is actually a prefab sauna that includes a cedar shingle roof package and outdoor light switch.

You also have a choice between a wood burning sauna stove or electric heater.

Finlandia says their sauna heaters are imported directly from Finland and that they “provide the best, most dependable heat and humidity.”

Finlandia also sells many accessories like towels, sauna humidifiers, buckets, pails, fragrances, brushes and brush sets, and more.

One of the coolest accessories is the aromatic dispenser. It incluees an automatic drip system.

First, you choose an aroma and mix it with water. Then pour the mixture into a ceramic bowl which hangs above the sauna heater by a chain.

The drips on the heater will fill the sauna with the aroma you chose. A control at the bottom of the bowl allows you to control the drip rate.
