1 person infrared sauna More and more people choose to install a personal sauna at home to use whenever they wish.

Because of the increase in demand, there are now plenty of residential sauna options to choose from.

And your choices are…

Let's look at each option...

Precut Sauna Kits

Are you the type who enjoys doing things yourself? And do you often look for opportunities to save money?

A pre-cut sauna kit is the ideal choice if you're a bargain shopping do-it-yourselfer.

Pre-cut kits are less expensive than pre-built (modular) saunas.

But, you will invest more of your time since you’ll have to practically build your sauna from scratch.

There are dozens of standard configurations to choose from. Have an unusual space in mind for your sauna? You can have your kit custom cut.

Portable Home Sauna

There are two kinds of portable saunas. There are very small made-for-one saunas that aren't your traditional full size saunas made of wood.

These are real money-and-space savers. Read more about portable saunas here.

If you want a portable full size sauna, continue reading about modular saunas next...

Modular Sauna Kit

Also referred to as pre-built or portable saunas, modular saunas offer ease of assembly and portability. These packages include a set of pre-assembled panels, so much of the work is done for you.

A moderate amount of assembly is needed compared to pre-cut kits.

Modular sauna kits are relatively easy to piece together and take apart. That feature would come in handy if you decide to relocate.

Custom Design Your Sauna

Do you like the thought of designing your home sauna to your very own specifications?

Many manufacturers will help you custom design your sauna.

Outdoor Sauna

You can place your sauna in your front or back yard, or on your deck or patio. It will need to be situated on a non-penetrable surface.

You will need to check your local building codes first. You may need to obtain a permit before you assemble your outdoor sauna kit.

Build Your Own From Scratch

This one is a major project. The degree of difficulty will depend on your level of carpentry skills of course.

You'll have to assemble everything. This includes installing the sauna heater.

If you would like to take on the challenge, you can check out The Art of Sauna Building. I haven't read the book myself, but it's recognized as a definitive resource.

No matter which one of the above choices you make, a home sauna is definitely worth the investment because of the health benefits of using a sauna.
