Steam Room Helps Muscle Stiffness and Soreness
I am 34 and recently joined a fitness club that just opened near my home. I had not exercised in many years and was prepared to be sore and feel bad till my body got used to it.
The first several days in a row that I worked out, I spent about 15-20 minutes in the steam room stretching and breathing deeply. I was pleasantly surprised at how I felt.
My muscles were loose, my skin looked young and fantastic, and obviously I was relaxed. I thought perhaps I was in better shape than I had given myself credit.
But the real impact was realized when I skipped a day. Being fairly skeptical of holistic medicines and treatments, I did not attribute my "lack of stiffness" to the steam room.
The next day, I was very stiff and sore and did not feel like going back to the gym that day.
It was allergy season at the time, and I felt the sinus pressure. I had no idea how much I had benefitted by the steam room.
I know that sweating does not cause weight loss, but I am a firm believer that the affect of the heat on the muscles, pores and body makes exercising and loosing weight much easier.
